Just have fun

Hey girlies, hope you’ve had a lovely Feb! I can’t believe it’s almost March 2015! Insane right? SO today I’m totally thinking outside the box to send one strong cohesive message. My theory is think about ‘what goes with what’ without actually putting too much thought into it …confusing?

Well that’s my point – what I’m trying to say is don’t stress over your outfit too much. Just have fun! I started by choosing my shoes (obviously) I loveee heels with platforms – super comfortable and they just look incredible and make my legs look super long 🙂 Always a bonus! Since prints are huge this S/S15 – I thought I’d take this opportunity and mix it up with the denim trend which is another trend that’s massive for SS/15! See how simple it can be? Ha! Easily said than done …  but just work it work it work it 🙂

One last thing… Never be afraid of mixing up trends. Just because you don’t like the 70’s trend for S/S15 doesn’t mean you can’t borrow the prints 😉

Double Denim with a touch of pink

It’s the question that divides the world: Should you or shouldn’t you double up on your denim. Gucci impressed on the SS15 catwalk in Milan with western meets military feel, featuring high-waisted straight jeans, finished off with fitted denim jackets. However Gucci wasn’t the only one who captivated audiences this season. Chloe, Fendi, Roberto Cavalli and Isabel Marant also totally contrasted the blue double denim and embedded it to the SS15 catwalks. It was hard to find a show that didn’t have slouchy boy fits, almost vintage looking jeans, lots of distressing and even some embellishments and patchwork!

I personally feel it’s about time we forgot about double denim’s past misfortunates and the bad interpretations and give this style another chance. I’ve gone for a totally casual look here, going for a lighter denim shirt to illustrate the contrast between washes. I’ve added a hint of pink to make it feel more ‘girly’. Just have fun – break the rules.

Smart casual is versatile

So what is this ‘smart casual’ thing everyone’s going on about? First thing first: does not mean whacking on a blazer over a pair of jogging bottoms, so get that out of your head. Anyone can cook up a killer smart casual outfit given the right ingredients. I always play around with it as there’s no right or wrong. Just go with the flow I would say- but here’s a formula I use:

One casual piece + Dressy piece + Dressy shoes + Dressy accessories = Smart Casual.

So the casual piece I’ve gone for is this gorgeous bomber jacket – bombers are huge this S/S15. Love the rock print adds a touch of colour to the outfit. My dressy pieces are the dress, shoes and the colour block clutch bag.

The dress is super cute and the perfect length to rock during the day as well as the evening. The shoes- well they speak for them self! It’s soooo lush and super comfortable.

Which way will you shine?

With metallic all around, there’s no need to save your flashy fashion statements until after dark. To beat the midwinter blues and jump-start your spring wardrobe, select an edgy skirt just like I did and throw on a casual sweater to keep you that extra bit warm(ish). I feel there’s no rules when it comes to style! Although metallics were huge in 2014, they’re definitely still sticking around for 2015 and I can’t get enough!

If you’ve got metallic items from last season – bring them out to play! I’ve completed my look with a faux fur clutch to add a ‘modern’ twist and obviously my lush heels that remind me of candy floss – and YES they are comfortable girls (please trust me on that).

If you’ve got a metallic piece tag me on twitter or Instagram ASOS_Gamze – let’s shine on together 🙂

Pinstripes are Super Chic

Hey my amazing followers, so this week it’s all about stripes. Stripes are still a huge trend for S/S15. I’ve always had a thing for stripes – they’re super easy to dress up or down and look effortlessly chic. I’ve gone for a totally relaxed look this week with this shift dress in Breton stripe (by the way its sooo comfortable to lounge in) :p I’ve paired it with a tailored blazer to give it that chic feel and completed the look with block ankle boots- which by the way I’m totally in love with!

Although the runway brought us subtle nods to the 1970’s sporty touches I love to keep everything feminine and in line with my own style.

I hope you guys enjoyed my short and sweet blog this week – why don’t you decide what you want to see more of?

Military Khaki

One of the easiest winter/spring looks is this season’s relaxed military style. Ways to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe include relaxed cropped trousers, a lightweight parka or a silky shirt. I totally got my inspiration from Marc after his uniform-inspired spring/summer 2015 collection closed down New York Fashion Week, with military details — utilitarian pockets, camouflage and desert khakis.

I’ve gone for a tailored piece here pairing my sweetheart neckline crop to give my look a feminine feel. Obviously I’ve paired lace heels to give the outfit that gorgeous effortless touch and completed the look with my parka – which comes with a detachable collar. I would totally meet some friends after work in this outfit.

Casual chic <3

Casual chic may sound cliché but it’s all about for looking put-together without being overdone. Mastering this subtle look is all about focusing in on a few key pieces that work to turn a simple outfit into something stunning but low key.

Fact of the matter is that we all want to look like we just rolled out of bed beautifully dressed. The unfortunate truth is that a little planning is necessary, especially when it comes to fashion. One thing I say to everyone is once you’ve collated a wardrobe of classic staples, a few unique statement pieces & mastered the confidence to be comfortable in any outfit, you know you can leave the house everyday looking chic, effortlessly.

What I’ve done here is mixed and matched different fabrics and styles. I’ve thrown a tailored coat with a pair of ASOS Mid Rise Skinny jeans and my gorgeous ankle boots! To break it all up I’ve just used my basic T-shirt and to complete the look I’ve added pop of colour with the ASOS Bowling Bag. Casual & chic 🙂
